Juventus fight off Real Madrid for Buffon

Juventus are resisting all efforts from Real Madrid to sign their goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

The Italy international is being lined up by Real president Florentino Perez as a replacement for contract rebel Iker Casillas.

Buffon has been a long-term target for Perez, who he regards as the best shot-stopper in the world.

The Italian's Juve contract runs to 2009 and director general Luciano Moggi insisted yesterday: "He is not for sale. Not at any price."
