Juventus can land option on Real Madrid target Meghni

Juventus could scupper Real Madrid's plans to sign Bologna midfielder Mourad Meghni in the summer.

The French youngster is being scouted by Real GM Arrigo Sacchi and is a firm favourite of the Spanish club's president, Florentino Perez.

However, its emerged Juve can secure first refusal on Meghni if they allow defender Nicola Legrottaglie's loan with Bologna to be converted into a permanent transfer at the end of this season.

Legrottaglie signed on-loan for Bologna during January and part of negotiations included an option on Meghni if the Italy international was to join permanently.

Bologna president Renato Cipollini was quick to point out yesterday: "Our loan of Legrottaglie does not necessarily give Juve first option on Meghni."
