Juande Ramos: Guti Is A Key Player For Real Madrid

Juande Ramos has given the clearest indication yet that Guti will start for Real Madrid in the derby tomorrow and Arjen Robben will only be on the bench.

The Spaniard has only returned to action lately but with a big game coming up against Liverpool in the Champions League, it is thought the coach wants to rest Robben.

He told Marca that Guti is an important part of the side, but that he does not think about who will start and who will sit on the bench.

"Guti is a key part of the team. If he plays well, then you have more chances to win. The talent of the players has to help the side," he mused.

"The 18 players that I take are all starters and are all important. Choosing between one or two of them is not going to have more say because the desire is at its highest in the derby."

Certainly both sides will be going all out to win the match and a victory is just as significant for Atletico Madrid as it is for the hosts.

Ramos admitted that it will be a difficult game and went on to praise the two Atletico forwards, Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan.

"Atletico come and they want to win. They are fighting to be top four, they have a great team and I know it will be a difficult and hard game," he explained.

"[Forlan and Aguero] Are two magnificent players who compliment each other well and they are two of the most important weapons for Atletico."

Whilst Atletico have Aguero and Forlan though, Madrid have Raul, and Ramos paid tribute to the No.7 this morning.

"Raul has been an important part in our recovery. Through his experience, he has seen many difficult times at Real Madrid and knows that in hard moments, one must stand up and not let the heads drop. When we were 12 points behind Barcelona, he pushed a lot so that people did not lose confidence," he concluded.
