Jonas: Real Madrid Will Be Tough

Mallorca midfielder Jonas Gutierrez is wary of the threat posed by Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid travel to Palma de Mallorca for their first leg Copa del Rey tie, with RCD midfielder Jonas Gutierrez anticipating a difficult encounter.

"I forsee a very tough Madrid," began the Argentine.

"Madrid want this Cup, and they will not be easy to defeat."

Jonas, who has been linked with a winter switch to Portsmouth, was asked about his side's questionable Liga form, but opted instead to focus on the Cup.

"I can't think of any opponent other than Madrid," he insisted.

"We need to go game to game, and Madrid come first. True, we're worried about our bad streak in the Liga, with just one recent win, but I'm sure that we can work hard to turn it around."

The winger impressed during his side's 2-0 defeat to Barcelona, but claimed that personal glory played second fiddle to his team's progress.

"We were very angry because we let them score from a set piece, even though we knew they'd threaten from such moves," fumed the 24-year-old.

"These are aspects of our game that must be improved."
