More than 1,000 Japanese fans flocked to Tokyo's main airport today to greet David Beckham and his wife Victoria as they kicked off their promotional tour of the Far East.
More than 1,000 Japanese fans flocked to Tokyo's main airport today to greet David Beckham and his wife Victoria as they kicked off their promotional tour of the Far East.
Last night Beckham completed a €35m move from Manchester United to Real Madrid. The giant transfer has enhanced the media attention on Beckham in Japan, where is idolised.
The England captain is set to shoot commercials in Japan before travelling to Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.
Many fans were already wearing Real Madrid shirts, which goes to show why Beckham will now be to profitable for the Spanish giants.
"I had such a good time in Asia last summer at the World Cup and have been looking forward to returning," said Beckham.
"With such great fans all across Asia, I'm sure it's going to be a memorable trip."
