The 26-year-old midfielder fractured his right foot during the pre-season Trofeo Bernabeu match against Inter Milan on August 14.
After an operation to bolt the broken bone together, Helguera has been working out in the club's gym in a race to get back to full fitness before Real's league meeting with Barcelona on November 4.
Helguera has been able to partake in light training and although he has no chance of starring against Palayas de Jandía tonight, nor against Alavés on Saturday, he could make a return for the following week's league match at home to Celta Vigo.
Elsewhere at Real Madrid, defender Aitor Karanka is resting after spraining his left leg, Michel Salgado is nursing a knee sprain and Luis Figo is also out with muscular problems. All three are receiving physiotherapy and should be given the all-clear for Saturday's trip to Alavés.
