Italy coach explains Real Madrid's Cassano omission

Italy coach Marcello Lippi admits he couldn't consider Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano for his squad because he hasn't been playing regularly.

"The little amount of time that he is playing right now is not helping," the former Juventus Coach underlined.

"Unfortunately for Cassano, he isn't playing very much - 10 minutes here, seven there, 15…" he tailed off.

"Let's say that his situation has changed little from when he was at Roma. I hope he plays more so that I can see him in action."
