Inter president chooses Real cash over Solari

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has decided against the signing of Real Madrid's Santiago Solari.

The Argentine midfielder was expected to join Inter in January as the final piece of Ronaldo's summer transfer.

Instead, Moratti will take the final cash installment, around £8 million, and use it to help boost Hector Cuper's first team squad.

Along with Solari, Steve McManaman and Fernando Morientes were also offered to Inter as a makeweight in the Ronaldo deal.
