Inter Milan star Joao Mario admits trying to lure Cristiano Ronaldo to join him at the Italian giants

Inter Milan winger Joao Mario has revealed his audacious plans to lure Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to Italy, but the skilful midfielder admits the task he has set himself is a difficult one.

The 24-year-old made the move to join Inter from Sporting CP in August 2016 in a deal that was worth €45 million.

Together the two won the European Championship last year with Portugal, and the Inter man hopes that his close friendship with the Madrid star will sway the Ballon d'Or winner to move to the Serie A.

"Portugal have a lot of quality, but Cristiano Ronaldo is obviously our talisman, our most important player," Joao Mario told Inter channel.

"I am trying to talk him into joining me at Inter! Let's just say it is difficult!"
