Inter Milan's Solari: Tough leaving Madrid

New Inter Milan signing Santiago Solari admits it was a difficult decision to leave Real Madrid.
 
The Argentine completed his move to the San Siro on Thursday after spending five years with the European giants.

"I want to thank Real Madrid for all that they have done for me," stated the South American.

"I am leaving my home, my fabulous teammates and an incredible winning cycle in Madrid."

"Moving away from here was the toughest decision of my life but I am now motivated to do well and full of energy again."

So why did he head for the Real exit? "I need to play regularly now and Inter have a great project for the future," he explained.

"Inter were really interested in me and I have to thank their officials who respected my desire to leave Real in my own time and in the best way possible."

The Spanish outfit were also keen to pass on their gratitude to Solari for his hard work over the past few years.

"It is never nice to lose a player," Vice-president Emilio Butragueno stated. "We want to thank Solari for all that he has done."

"He has always given his best and we hope he can have a great career. We wish him all the best."
