Inter Milan president wants Real Madrid's Diarra

Inter Milan have stepped up their interest in Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.

The former Olympique Lyon star has struggled in his first season in Spain and is considering his future.

Corriere dello Sport says Inter president Massimo Moratti has made a personal approach to Diarra's agent to discuss a move to Italy.

Diarra is keen, though if Real show signs of a willingness to sell, Inter will have to beat AC Milan and Fiorentina for the £10 million-rated midfielder.
