Inter Milan make late bid for Chelsea, Real Madrid target Samuel

Inter Milan have made a shock late move for AS Roma defender Walter Samuel.

The Argentine has been tabled contract offers by both Real Madrid and Chelsea worth around £12 million over four years.

But talks with Roma over Samuel's transfer fee have stalled, so allowing Inter a chance to table a bid of their own.

Inter supremo Massimo Moratti has contacted Roma about a £20 million cash bid and has received encouragement from Roma president Franco Sensi.
