Inter Milan go cold on Real Madrid defender Samuel

Inter Milan are going cold on the idea of signing Real Madrid defender Walter Samuel on-loan.
 
Real's asking price of £16 million at the end of the 12-month deal is too steep for Inter, as is Samuel's £3.5 million salary. Inter supremo Massimo Moratti is also upset with Real's insistence they cough up a fee to take Samuel on a temporary basis for the new season.

Moratti is now reviving his bid for AS Roma defender Cristian Chivu. The Romania international has told close friends he wants a move to Inter and Moratti is ready to meet Roma's £10 million asking price.
