Inter Milan confident over Real Madrid pair Figo, Samuel

Inter Milan chief Marco Branca is confident of signing Real Madrid stars Luis Figo and Walter Samuel before the end of the week.
 
Despite rival interest from Liverpool for Figo, Branca said yesterday: "The agreement between us and the player is there. There is also a pact with Real."

Figo is expected to move to Inter on a two-year deal worth £2.7 million-a-season.

Meanwhile, Inter are close to securing a season-long loan deal with Real Madrid for defender Samuel. Inter will pay a fee of £1.4 million and also agree to a £10 million straight cash deal at the end of the season for the Argentine's permanent signing.

Method of payment for the overall fee is still to be settled and if Inter cannot reach an agreement before Saturday they will turn their attentions elsewhere for a new defensive signing.
