Inter Milan chief Branca returns to Madrid for Samuel talks

Inter Milan sports chief Marco Branca flew to Madrid yesterday for talks over the future of Walter Samuel.
 
Real Madrid have told Inter they want £2 million for Samuel's 12-month loan, with another £14 million due should the deal be made permanent at the end of the season.

Inter supremo Massimo Moratti believes the demands are too steep and sent Branca to Madrid yesterday to try and talk down Real's asking price.

Inter are prepared to pay the £2 million loan fee, but won't go higher than £10 million for Samuel's permanent transfer.

Samuel is keen on the move, having been talked round by his Argentina teammates, Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso, during the Confederations Cup last month.
