Inter Milan ask Real Madrid for Samuel loan

Inter Milan have made a formal approach to Real Madrid for defender Walter Samuel.

The former AS Roma stopper has failed to settle in Spain and Real chiefs have put him on the market. Inter made their enquiry yesterday, offering £1 million for a 12-month loan of the Argentina international.

Real chiefs are considering the proposal seriously, particularly as releasing Samuel will free up a non-EU spot in their squad ahead of the imminent arrival of Brazilian star Robinho from Santos.
