The Serie A side are widely considered to be eagerly chasing the Portuguese international, with rumours circulating throughout the summer.
According to Tuttosport, the current stumbling point in negotiations is regarding the fee, with Inter only willing to pay around €7 million, while Los Blancos are holding out for a figure closer to €15m.
Roberto Mancini’s side have already strengthened a lot this summer, with notable arrivals including Stevan Jovetic from Manchester City, Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco, Miranda from Atletico Madrid, and Martin Montoya from Barcelona.
The Nerazzurri will no doubt be looking to improve on their recent finishes in Serie A this season, with many tipping them for a return to Champions League football.
