Injuries Continue To Ravage Real

Defending European champions Real Madrid were dealt two further injury blows on Thursday as both Fernando Hierro and Claude Makelele were unable to finish the 2-2 draw against Lokomotiv Moscow.

Hierro suffered a flare-up of an ankle problem which had sidelined him for almost the entire month of November, while Makelele picked up a new groin injury. Neither are expected back before January.
