I Will Pay Helguera's Fine - Makelele

Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele has defended his former Real Madrid team-mate Ivan Helguera who was recently fined by the Spanish giants.

Helguera suggested that the club were missing the likes of Makelele and Fernando Hierro who were off-loaded in the summer.

"I don't understand why they fined him," said Makelele.
"Helguera is a friend of mine, and that is why he said those things."

"But I have already told him that he does not need to defend me, and that I will pay his fine."
