I'll Play Figo And Beckham, Says Queiroz

Real Madrid's new manager Carlos Queiroz has promised to play both Luis Figo and David Beckham if the pair are both fit and in form.

Beckham's arrival at the Bernabeu raised questions over Figo's future, however Queiroz, who has strong links with both players.

Queiroz was Manchester United's assistant manager last season and also knows Figo well from his time as Portugal's coach in the early 1990's.

"People ask me whether Luis Figo and David Beckham can play in the same team," he said. "My answer is that one of them would only be on the bench if injured or out of form."

"David is a fantastic professional, an athlete who was born to run. In my months at Manchester United I never saw him miss a training session and he even tried to train and play when he had a rib injury, which we knew nothing about."
