I am finished with Spurs for good, says Campbell

Sol Campbell has been angered so much by Tottenham's claims that he demanded £130,000 a week in wages he will never play for them again.

In his first interview since he confirmed he would be quitting Spurs, the England defender told Sky Sports: "I'm disappointed, hurt. Ten years of working for one club means nothing to certain people and now the comments they've made have made the situation difficult."

"Who knows? In four years' time I could have been coming back or at least had the opportunity to come back. But that would be really hard now. In that case it has altered my way of thinking."

The 26-year-old, who is understood to be a target for Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, blames Tottenham's new owners ENIC for making public private discussions.

He said: "I've been getting messages and praise from outside the club, but not from certain people in the heirarchy."

"Sometimes they can say it didn't work out, thanks for your services, and then who knows, maybe I would have come back? But I got more information off the man on the street."

"It felt like the wind was with me and then it was tryng to blow me down. It's hard. I'm very disappointed, my decision was heart-wrenching."

"The tie with fans is never going to be cut, because they've been with me through a lot of things - I've played a lot of games for them in over the decade I've been at the club."
