Huntelaar On Good Terms With Robben Despite Squabble

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has continued to repay Real Madrid’s faith in him in spades after netting another brace in the team’s 3-0 win over Almeria Sunday evening.

The Dutch striker has now scored eight goals – and his third double – in his last six league starts for Los Blancos, but, more crucially, he has shown that that there is no tension between him and compatriot Arjen Robben.

The pair were reported to have gotten into a quarrel mid-game during last weekend’s 5-2 win at Athletic Bilbao, but there were no signs of trouble at the Santiago Bernabeu yesterday as they celebrated the win together.

“There is no problem between us. Sometimes, there are things that happen on the field but they are only misunderstandings and that is how they will stay. We have already talked about it long ago,” he told reporters during the post-match chatter.

“I am happy to have scored again but the most important thing is that we won. Real Madrid have a lot of quality in the team and anyone can score."

“Today, Marcelo also got on the scoresheet but in the next game, it can be someone else. That’s the quality of this team.

In regards to the Merengues’ persistent assault on the league title, Huntelaar said, “We continue to win games but so are Barcelona .

“We are doing great work to win our matches and to not drop any points. Now, we are already thinking about winning our next game [against Malaga ].”

Madrid remain second in the Primer Division ladder, six points behind Barca.
