Huntelaar For Roma Or Madrid?
Transfer agent Alberto Faccini has revealed that both Roma and Real Madrid are interested in signing Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar, and that a transfer could take place in January.
The Dutchman, who has an absolutely prolific goalscoring record, was expected to leave Amsterdam this summer for either Spain, Italy or England.
Although he ended up staying put, the hitman is almost certain to leave this year at some point, and it seems both Roma and Real Madrid are in the race.
“I spoke to Roma sporting director Daniele Pradè and he asked me for information on Huntelaar,” Faccini told Power Station.
“There hasn’t been an offer or any concrete request from Roma for the player, but I'm sure Huntelaar will weigh up the offers during the winter.
“He could move in January, but at the moment Ajax are taking some time to consider their options.
“Huntelaar would be useful to Roma. For example, in their Champions League game against CFR Cluj they brought on Vincenzo Montella and, with all due respect, he doesn't have Klaas Jan's characteristics.
“However, we must remember that it wouldn't be an easy transfer, not least because Real Madrid are still interested in him.”
Madrid are looking for a long-term replacement for Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who will turn 33 next summer.
