Higuain: This Isn't Over Yet

Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain is confident that Los Merengues can turn their 2-1 first leg defeat around.

Higuain was one of the few shining lights in what was a below par Real Madrid display against Real Mallorca, scoring a superb goal to hand his side something to take back to the Bernabeu.

“We weren't able to achieve what we wanted, but I am happy that I scored," he said after the game. "I felt good out there, especially because I scored a goal."

“It was a pretty goal, but I think the one against Espanyol was even nicer because of what it meant. It's a shame we couldn't win."

“This tie isn't over yet and we're going to do whatever it takes next week, but first we have to think about Levante.”

“We knew Mallorca was a good team and that leaving here with a win would be hard," he added.

"They had a good gameplan, but this isn't a bad result for us. We've still got the return leg at home, where we have yet to lose this year."

“We have to think about Levante now because we have to maintain our seven-point lead in the League.”

On the lack of first team action, he said: “The manager decides who plays. I just try to do my best and to work hard every day. I feel comfortable as a forward. I am pleased because I was finally able to score again.”
