Higuain seeks to accelerate Real Madrid deal

River Plate striker Gonzalo Higuain's representatives will attempt to accelerate the youngster's move to Real Madrid next week.

The teenager's agent, Norberto Recassens, and his Dad, Jorge, are scheduled to meet with River president Jose Maria Aguilar next week, with other board members having already assured the player's camp they won't block his move to Real in January.

River want £10 million, though Real are confident an offer of £7 million will seal the deal. An agreement could be struck before the end of next week.

Meanwhile, Real coach Fabio Capello wants new signing Marcelo to make his Real Madrid B debut against Real Murcia when the Segunda Liga resumes on January 7.
