Higuaín Remains Wary Of Atlético

Higuain once again opened up to the press today about next week’s derby at the Vicente Calderon, but was very cautious of the threat caused by the Rojiblancos and did not fancy making any bets.

Atletico Madrid host the Merengues on the 18th in what certain to be an exciting display from both sides. Speaking to the press, Higuain was asked whether or not he thinks his side will return the victors.

“We cannot be left with that image of Atleti (last week’s mauling against Barca),” began the young Argentine.

“They are a tough rival and we must be very concentrated because we cannot take them for granted, what happened last week was one in a million,” he warned.

He was then asked whether he preferred Van Nistelrooy or Aguero, but the striker chuckled off any comparisons.

“They are both great players. Ruud is phenomenal, he touches few balls but can derive a goal from thin air,” he stated proudly, “it is an honor to play alongside him”.

Pipita was then pressured by a journalist, and was asked whether or not he would like to be playing with his national team. “I’d love to do that job, I am calm and young,” he sighed, “I work hard everyday to improve and hopefully will get called up soon.”

Last, the French born striker was asked about the vigorous race for the Ballon d’Or, but he gave no clear favorites. “Besides (Ronaldo, Casillas, and Messi), there are other great players, and it is not fair to look over them” he concluded.

Higuain is likely to start against Atletico following some extremely impressive performances in the past weeks.
