Higuain - I Will Score Again In Derby

The countdown has begun until the Madrid derby on Saturday evening, and the Real man has been reminiscing about his first goal for Los Merengues.

The Argentine midfielder scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the Vicente Calderon in February 2007, and it is a moment that Higuain remembers fondly.

He said," Hopefully I will be able to repeat the feat on Saturday. I have my goal videotaped, and of course I have photos too. It motivates me every time I see it, and it fills me with pride."

Higuain, who has scored two goals in five league matches this season, has experience of boisterous rivalry from his time at River Plate. In his opinion, Spanish derby matches are not dissimilar in style, and in the way they define players characters.

He is aware that, at only 20 years old, he has plenty of time to develop and nurture his talent. His teammate Iker Casillas on the hand has long been the finished article, and according to Higuain is worthy of a Balon D'or.

He told journalists, " I pick Iker. There are others who are more likely to win because the perform more complicated skills, but he  is one of the most important players we have. That is why he is one of the major candidates."
