Hierro wants new Real Madrid deal by December

Fernando Hierro wants to know his contract situation at Real Madrid by December.

The sweeper's current deal runs out at the end of the season and Hierro knows he is in a good bargaining position having established himself - again - as Real's No1 defender.

Hierro said: "I want to renew my contract with Real Madrid. But I need to know clearly my future by December."

"I have not spoken with the club and I'm not going to create a fuss, there's no point in doing that. But I want to know my future by that date."
