Hertha Berlin's Gilberto in Real Madrid sights

Hertha Berlin wing-back Gilberto is being linked with Real Madrid.

The Brazil international is understudy to Real's Roberto Carlos in the national team and is being considered as the veteran's eventual replacement at Madrid.

Gilberto is currently with Brazil for their final World Cup qualifiers this week and local press reports suggest Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo has discussed the left-sided wing-back with general manager Arrigo Sacchi.
