Henry to snub Real Madrid for £80,000-a-week Arsenal deal

Arsenal ace Thierry Henry is ready to reject an offer from Real Madrid to sign a new £80,000-a-week contract at Highbury.
 
The Mirror says the 28-year-old Frenchman is one of the most loyal players in football and is ready to turn his back on talks of a £30million transfer to sign a new long-term contract with the Gunners. He is now having talks about extending the two years left on his contract and insists he is determined to help Arsenal win the European Cup.

Henry, in an interview on the club's Arsenal PLUS internet service, said: "It's never been done here and that is the only thing missing on my CV, but there is plenty of time."

"There are some great players who have never won the Champions League and some players have won everything even though they were not amazing players. Sometimes that is just the way it is. You cannot always have everything. But for me there's still some years left to go."
