Helguera, Salgado ready to move on from Real Madrid

Real Madrid's Spanish favourites Ivan Helguera and Michel Salgado could be playing their last season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
 
Helguera is off contract in the summer and will be the subject of a £1 million offer from Newcastle United when the winter market opens in January.

Real have shown little enthusiasm to open new contract talks with Helguera and with Jonathan Woodgate and Sergio Ramos now coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's first-choice defensive pairing, he is determined not to be left on the bench.

Meanwhile, DiarioSport says Salgado is ready to quit Real after falling out with Luxemburgo. Salgado is angry with the arrival of Uruguay international wing-back Carlos Diogo and also the January signing of Sao Paulo fullback Cicinho.

Like Helguera, Salgado could be on his way in January and he has already been linked with a move to Juventus.
