Helguera: Real Fine Unjust

Ivan Helguera has criticised the club's decision to fine him after speaking out against the Merengues' transfer policy.

The centreback-cum-midfielder was fined a couple of weeks ago for suggesting the club was wrong to offload Fernando Hierro and Aitor Karanka.

"I didn't expect to be fined and I think the decision was unjust," he said.

"But I must accept it because that's the club's policy. I believe that the club treats all its players equally and I want to put the incident behind me."

He added: "I will always say the truth and I will not keep myself quiet. I will not lie in any interview, but from now on I will speak of just football things."
