Helguera delighted with new Real Madrid deal

Ivan Helguera is delighted with his new Real Madrid contract.

The defender has extended his deal through to 2009 and said: "I am delighted. I have been here for many years and I will continue a few years more."

"The truth is that I had a great desire to stay and for me I am proud to continue belonging to Real Madrid. We are all happy with this operation."

"The important thing is that I'm staying three more years with Real Madrid and that I always wanted this."
