Guti No Scapegoat

Real Madrid and Spanish international midfielder Guti believes that he is unfairly being targeted as the cause of Madrid's bad end of season run.

Guti has been with the club his whole life and said "When you've been here for 14 years it gets you down." In reference to being made a scapegoat by Real coach Carlos Queiroz

The midfielder further went on to say about the ex-Manchester United assistant manager "He's done his job, but things have happened that I can't understand and which, from my point of view, have no reason behind them."

But one cannot blame Guti for being used as a defensive midfielder, as without a ball winning midfielder in the mould of Makelele, Real have well and truly suffered. Guti and Beckham were both expected to fill the Frenchman's void but have failed to do so.

If another Galactico is signed, this could further push Guti out of the picture which the Spanish international is not ready to accept, stating: "I'm not going to be an exchange for anyone and if I have to leave Madrid it will be to go where I choose."
