Guti: I could've quit Real Madrid this summer

Real Madrid midfielder Guti admits this summer was the best opportunity he had of leaving the club.

Guti had several offers from the Premiership, including Everton and Newcastle United, but chose to stay with Real for the coming season.

The Spanish international said: "This summer I had the last opportunity for me to leave, but having chosen to stay I have done the best thing."

"This year will be more difficult and more complicated to play. We already had many top players and now many more. This year is going to be hard, but I trust that the season is going to be very long so that each one of us will have minutes and the power to demonstrate that we are worthy."
