Guti Doubtful For El Clásico

Guti has become a major doubt to play for Real Madrid in the hotly-anticipated encounter with Barcelona this weekend after picking up a knock. 

Los Merengues' playmaker has strained a ligament in his right ankle and could be ruled out of the trip to Camp Nou on Sunday.

Despite not having started in Madrid's last few games, Guti is still a key member of the squad and will be sorely missed if he does not recover.

Julio Baptista's return to form has seen him retain his place in Bernd Schuster's starting team alongside Mahamadou Diarra and they could now well be the pair to play against Barça.

Doctors will continue to monitor Guti's progress over the next tow days and not make a decision until the day of the game.

The indecision will mean that Schuster will be unable to name his side until shortly before kick off, if he had any plans to include the 31-year-old.
