Guti doubt for decider

Key striker Jose Maria Gutierrez is the major doubt for Saturday's title decider against Alaves with a sprained ankle.

The 22-year-old frontman limped away from Thursday's training session and could miss the weekend match - and a chance to see Real Madrid crowned as League champions.

The player sprained his left ankle during one of the mini practice matches and had to receive treatment from club physio, Antonio Acedo.

But Guti is confident that he'll be fit to take on Alaves at the weekend, saying: "I don't think that I'll have any problems playing on Saturday, it's a mild sprain but let's wait and see how I feel tomorrow."

Team medic Hernandez, however, feels that the player should rest and not force the injury by playing a top flight league match.

"Whoever doesn't train on Friday won't be in the team on Saturday," he said. "There are only two days to go and that's too much of a risk to take."

Apart from Guti, coach Vicente Del Bosque will be able to call on the entire squad, striker Raul Gonzalez and centre-back Aitor Karanka are now back from injury and Helguera, Hierro and Roberto Carlos have all served their respective suspensions.

In the Alaves side, right-back Cosmin Contra misses the match after he was sent off against Oviedo last weekend.

If Real Madrid win on Saturday then they will be crowned League champions on goal difference.
