Gravesen delighted with Real Madrid fans' welcome

Thomas Gravesen was delighted with his debut for Real Madrid in Sunday's 1-0 win over Real Zaragoza at the Bernabeu.

The Dane came on with half-an-hour remaining and was quickly being cheered by the home fans after he gave Zaragoza's Javier Movilla, a former Atletico Madrid midfielder, a crunching tackle.

"I don't care what the fans call me," Gravesen said afterwards, "but it would be nice if they called me Tommy."

"I want to be able to speak Spanish in three months so I can understand what the fans are saying."

"I am a new player and have come to play football and to please the fans. The support has been fantastic for my first game."
