Gravesen accepts Real Madrid axe

Real Madrid midfielder Thomas Gravesen accepted his axing for yesterday's clash with Espanyol.

The Dane has been an ever-present since his January move from Everton last season, but was dropped to the bench for last night's game.

"The trainer thinks that I need to begin on the bench, I respect that and I am not going to request any explanation. We need to stick together, as much as players, as the technical staff," said Gravesen.

"If we do that, then the club and the results will improve."
