Giggs, Ronaldo see Man Utd contract talks on-hold

The futures of Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United are in doubt following Malcolm Glazer's takeover yesterday.
 
The club are in the process of offering new contracts to the big-name duo - but talks will now have to go on hold.

While Glazer has pledged to keep England defender Rio Ferdinand at Old Trafford, the futures of wing-kings Ronaldo and Giggs look in doubt.

Portuguese box-of-tricks Ronaldo, 20, was on the verge of increasing his wages by FOUR times from £14,000 a week.

He was already impatient about negotiating a pay rise after two years as a star performer.

Now any further stalling will see Real Madrid take advantage and lure him to the Bernabeu.

Giggs was close to signing a two-year extension on his current deal, which is worth £70,000 a week.
