German keeper Kahn apologizes for refusing to swap shirts

Germany captain and goalkeeper Oliver Kahn on Thursday apologized to Spanish opposite number Iker Casillas for refusing to swap shirts after their 3-1 international friendly defeat in Palma, Mallorca.

Kahn was furious after Wednesday's match and refused the usual tradition of swapping shirts which drew strong criticism in the Spanish media.

"I didn't mean to insult him (Casillas)," Kahn said. "In an attempt to say I'm sorry I will invite him to Munich for a training session."

Casillas said he accepted the apology and fully understood Kahn was disappointed at the result.
