Geremi set for Chelsea switch

Real Madrid defender Geremi has revealed he is on the brink of joining Chelsea after the two clubs agreed a fee of $US 10m.

The 22-year-old Cameroon international has been courted by Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri for some time and, according to the player himself, all that remains is for him to tie up the loose ends.

"According to the news I have, the move to Chelsea is almost done," Geremi told the Sunday People.
"I believe that only minimal details are to be sorted out between the clubs."

Geremi moved to The Bernabeu after he was spotted by the then Real boss John Toshack playing for Turkish outfit Genclerbirligi. He was a member of Cameroon's triumphant team at the 2000 African Nations Cup.

A deal for the quick and versatile player will take Ranieri's close season spending spree beyond £30m ($US 42m) following his capture of of Frank Lampard, Emmanuel Petit and William Gallas.
