Geremi double sinks Cartagonova

Geremi Fotso was the hero in Real's 5-1 thrashing of Cartagonova on Thursday evening, helping the visitors take the Trofeo Bahia de Cratagena.

Striker Pedro Munitis, freshly back from injury, got Real off to a good start, with a vicious strike from outside the box on 11 minutes. Eight minutes later, Geremi launched an unstoppable free-kick to put Real 2-0 up.

Munitis grabbed Real's third just before the half-hour mark to give the visitors a comfortable half-time lead.

Artigas pulled a goal back for Cartagonova with a delicate chip on 66 minutes that surprised Real keeper Cesar Sanchez, but the Murcianos could do little to stop their superior rivals. Edwin Congo, on for striker Guti, took the ball around keeper Pablo Ancos to tap home Real's fourth and the rout was completed by Geremi, latching onto a Solari corner with five minutes left on the watch.

Geremi's superb performance is certain to curry favour with coach Vicente Del Bosque, who may think about giving the defender a run-out in Real's next league match against Malaga on September 8.
