For Gareth Bale and the rest of his Real Madrid teammates, the matches don’t matter until beginning with August 8 in the UEFA Super Cup against Manchester United.

Between now and then the number one preseason priority for Real is to keep all the players healthy. Thus, Bale’s limping out of Madrid’s training session at Soldier Field in Chicago today sounded some alarms.

Los Blancos will take on the MLS All-Stars tomorrow night in the 2017 MLS All-Star Game having not acquired a single win on their United States preseason tour as of yet.

Naturally, the team has been criticized for their performances this preseason, as has Gareth Bale himself. Manager Zinedine Zidane did not seem to be too concerned though about another injury to player that’s had a history of them.

"I see Gareth feeling good, bit by bit," he said.

"He had a very long injury, four months [last season]. He has done a full preseason now, trained regularly, which is important for him. I am not concerned about his performance, it has been like all the team, good moments and some not so good."

The Welsh international has been linked again in transfer rumors to Real’s Super Cup opponent.
