Galliani: Milan Turned Down Real Madrid Bid For Shevchenko

Milan's acting president Adriano Galliani has revealed that the club turned down a bid for Andriy Shevchenko from Real Madrid.

"I don't know how many people are aware of it but Andriy is one of those Rossoneri who keep close contact with president Berlusconi," he was quoted as saying on the club's official site.

"They often call each other and talk. Sheva is always Sheva. He has never told the president to feel uncomfortable at the club or that he wanted to join those teams who offered him much money."

"We rejected Real Madrid's offer of 150 billion Liras. Speaking with Berlusconi Sheva confirmed his desire to stay."

Galliani also confirmed that 96% of the club's playing staff will be present next season.
