Gago delighted with Real Madrid role

Fernando Gago is delighted with the way he has established himself at Real Madrid.

The young Argentine has seen off the challenge of Mahamadou Diarra to become Real coach Bernd Schuster's first-choice defensive midfielder.

Gago, ahead of today's clash at Racing Santander, said: "I've improved in everything day to day. In today's soccer, you need to improve always in tactical and technical aspects."

"You always must improve and it is important to take things from teammates and the coach to achieve this."

"I feel good, but I believe this is because the team is winning and doing well. You'd have to ask the coach if I am a first-choice, I am just working hard for the team."
