Furious Wenger on Real Madrid: I am staying with Arsenal

An angry Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied he is set to quit Highbury for Real Madrid over the close-season.

Speculation has been rife in both England and Spain that Wenger will leave Arsenal following talks with Real president Florentino Perez last week.

However, a fuming Wenger told the Sunday Mirror, "It's not true, not true."

"I am not going to Spain. I am staying in England."

"I have told Arsenal this and they have put out a statement to that effect on the club website."

"I have a contract with Arsenal for two more years. I am a man of honour, a man of my word and I have never broken a contract in my life."

"In the circumstances I don't think I have to say any more."
