Four Point Lead Will Keep Us Relaxed - Mijatovic

Real Madrid sporting director Pedja Mijatovic spoke about the importance of heading into El Clasico with a four point lead at the top of the table.

The win against Osasuna means that even if things do not go according to plan at Camp Nou, Real Madrid will head into the new year at least a point ahead of Barcelona.

"It was extremely important to win tonight and we did," said Mijatovic after the 2-0 result.

"We had chances to score more goals, but the victory in itself is what's important."

"However, we can't forget that we have to give a good image at home," he continued, gently reminding Bernd Schuster that the fans also need a performance. It had been a forgettable display from Los Merengues.

However, Mijatovic admitted that the three points left the team calm: "Tonight's victory gives us a four point lead, which relaxes us a bit, and that's good."
