Florentino Perez Wants Roberto Carlos Back At Real Madrid

Florentino Perez is set to make a dramatic swoop to re-sign Roberto Carlos when he leaves Fenerbahce in January - and hopes to recapture the Galactico feel at the Bernabeu, according to a report.

The Real Madrid president looks back fondly on his time at the helm when the Brazilian left-back formed part of a side that included Zinedine Zidane and other world stars.

Zidane is already back and now Perez wants another player to whom he was close during his first six years in charge to return to the club.

Roberto Carlos could leave Fenerbahce in the New Year transfer window and has hinted that he would return home to play for Santos, but that could all change, AS believe.

Perez will make initial contact early on and then make the offer for the 36-year-old, who could take on a part-time coaching role as well as playing.

After spending 11 years with Madrid, Carlos could well be tempted to return and settle in the Spanish capital with a job on offer after he hangs up his boots.
