Florentino Eyeing Real Madrid Return

Florentino Pérez is set to make a bid to return to the helm at Real Madrid in the 2010 presidential elections because he is upset by the way the club is currently being run, according to reports.

The former Bernabéu supremo wants to make a dramatic comeback in order to restore the pride that he feels is disappearing under his successor, according to reports.

Another candidate, Juan Villalonga, confirmed that he would be standing in the elections that a repredicted to be held in two years time and also revealed that Pérez is preparing to run.

While current incumbent Ramón Calderón may not be popular in some circles he has overseen two league title wins and few have forgotten that Pérez's reign ended badly.

For many, the Galáctico era was not successful despite the host of star names that the club signed and the regime is still criticised for the way that they ousted Vicente del Bosque in 2003.

According to Sport, opposition to Calderón is now strong in Madrid and several people are preparing to try and oust him despite his success on the field.

But whether a return to the days when the club signed players for their name rather than through encessity is quesionable, but Pérez is said to believe that he can win the fans over.
